I looked it up and anthracosis is also called Black Lung. I thought the causative agent would be a germs of some sort. All I can find is inhalation of coal dust. Is that right?
Answers: "Black lung" is only cause by inhaling coal dust. "anthracite" is the geoogical name for coal; hence, "anthracosis".
Other etiologies hold different names. For example, other types of miners (gold, silver, etc.) achieve silicosis from inhaling dust over many years and have it settle in the lungs.
